Following our work on the Knowledge Hub masterplan for Birmingham city centre earlier this year, we’ve been approached by a number of developers and landowners within Birmingham to get involved with several exciting new commissions and projects around Birmingham and across the country.
One such commission is at Typhoo Wharf, where we are working with land owners the Gooch Estate and future occupiers Birmingham City University to design a truly unique landscape environment that works harmoniously with the site’s existing canal basin and provides a dynamic context for STEAMHouse, a government funded arts focussed business incubation centre that aims to provide a springboard for Birmingham City University’s students and graduates to develop their own businesses within the former Typhoo tea factory in Digbeth.
We have also been involved in a range of high profile master planning projects from our strategic Connecting Places project in Wolverhampton, through to the detail of developing a viable and deliverable town centre masterplan for Bicester. On a residential front, we have prepared plans for new communities across the country, including an exciting proposal in Southam, which includes the creation of a new riverside park. Our heritage team has also been very busy, from acting on behalf of Redditch and Bromsgrove Councils as external conservation officer, to writing conservation area appraisals in Dudley and providing statements of significance for a range of planning and listed building applications.
It’s such an exciting time here at Node – we can’t wait to see these projects come to life. If you have an urban design, landscape or heritage project you would like to speak to us about, we would be delighted to hear from you.
