In just a month’s time the team will be setting off at the base of Ben Nevis to begin their challenge of summiting the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales in under 24 hours.
Preparations are now well underway with the team hard at work carefully planning their hiking routes, borrowing any bit of kit their friends and family are willing to lend them… and some of the team may even done some training in Snowdonia as well!
As if this challenge wasn’t hard enough, the team have now elected to camp in Fort William the night before this 24-hour feat. Some of team may be regretting this decision considering the recent weather we have had: let’s hope the conditions have improved in a month’s time!
Node’s Birmingham office are taking on the Three Peaks Challenge, in a bid to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society to support the fight against dementia. The scale of the challenge we are facing is appropriate, given the rising challenge associated with dementia. The government anticipates that by 2025, over one million people living in the UK could have dementia, with this figure doubling by 2050. That makes the work undertaken by the Alzheimer’s Society so incredibly vital, and a cause that we are proud to be able to support.
The level of support the team has received so far has been amazing and we can proudly say we are now over 90% of the way to our fundraising target with a month to go! This is a great cause that has impacted so many of us, so from everyone here at Node we’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has donated so far.
If you’d like to support our team reach their fundraising target as they help to beat dementia with every step, then please visit our Just Giving page to make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society:
