Coventry City Council
Node were appointed by Coventry City Council to provide conservation officer support to their planning and regeneration service.
The commission came at a critical time in the city’s development, as one of the first Historic England heritage action zones and having recently won City of Culture 2021.
Our advice supported robust decision making for the historic environment within the planning process. We guided proposals across the city, through all stages of the development cycle, including pre-application, planning submission, and conditions discharge. By the close of the commission we had consulted on over one-thousand schemes, including many within the city’s internationally significant surviving medieval core, along one of the earliest canal networks in the country, and within the spatially and architecturally important areas at the heart of the city’s pioneering post-war townscape.
