Node were commissioned by Codia Blackswan to undertake a heritage assessment for the proposed redevelopment of ‘Bradford Works’, an early 20th century mixed use industrial and commercial building, located at the junction of Barr Street and Harford Street, Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham.

Approach

The scheme required careful consideration of many heritage sensitivities, given its context within the Jewellery Quarter Conservation Area, and the Jewellery Quarter Neighbourhood Plan designated area.

Result

We provided targeted heritage consultancy input, to support the submission on matters of heritage policy and planning balance. The team produced a heritage statement to support the planning application, following detailed analysis of the site and its surroundings.
