Approach

Node worked closely with the architect and engineers on a steeply sloping site on the edge of Much Wenlock. The client asked for a scheme that was exemplary in its approach to environmental measures. The architects designed twelve PassivHaus properties, which we worked to place on the site in the optimum locations that provided natural lighting thermal gain, whilst bearing in mind the challenging levels over the site.

An integrated SuDS scheme was requested by the client which we designed in conjunction with the engineer to ensure that he scheme worked to prevent flooding on and off the site, whilst providing an attractive environment for residents.

Impact

The scheme was approved by the planning authority. The landscape design drew praise from the planning authority, and will ensure that water falling or draining on to the site will be retained in attractive swales and retention ponds. The development has been delivered and is occupied.
