Stourport-on-Severn
We combined our expertise in urban design and heritage to create a development brief for a residential led mixed-use development within a key town centre location in Stourport. The site is real palimpsest of Stourport’s history, showcasing multiple phases of development and uses. Cheapside played host to the largest vinegar works in the world, together with being the site of a former canal basin. We aimed to protect the unique history of the site whilst at the same time regenerating the area with exciting mixed-use development and new public space.
Our approach led to the production of a masterplan and development brief. Respecting the history of the site, we designed a scheme guided by modern urban design principles with high quality streets and spaces throughout, surrounded by buildings of the highest architecture merit. Our work in Stourport will ensure that the future development of this site will be worthy of its location and assets.
