January marked a year since my arrival at Node. I joined to fulfil a long-held ambition to work within a creative cross-disciplinary team, lending my heritage experience to colleagues in landscape architecture and urban design, and learning from them in turn. Both my hopes and expectations have been comfortably exceeded.
Writing this article from the perspective of an urban designer, I struggle to think of anything in my work that fills me with more excitement than the prospected of designing a new urban square. The square is the epicentre of all urban activity: the human hive of hustle and bustle that epitomises all of the best things the urban environment has to offer.
Happy New Year 2020! The Node team are all already back at work and raring to go! We are excited about what the year ahead could have in store for us. Our theme for 2020 is growth – of many kinds.
It’s been another busy year at Node HQ. 2019 was a particularly strong year for our landscape service. Inspired by some major project wins including landscape design for the new University Station, we bolstered our landscape team, adding Mila and Kika to provide greater depth in our landscape design and LVIA functions.
