Taylor Wimpey – One of the largest British based house-building companies
We sought to work with the key opportunities associated with this residential site in Southam, Warwickshire, in particular promoting the location in close proximity to the town centre through emphasising pedestrian connections, as well as reflecting the key physical constraints, including an existing watercourse and mature trees. We engaged the local community in the design development process to ensure that proposals developed collaboratively and openly. This information was supported by multiple site visits including landscape and visual impact assessment to inform the design.
We designed a range of housing types to provide much needed homes to the local community in Southam. We understood the constraints of the project and minimised the impact of the development on the attractive surrounding landscape areas, whilst providing enhanced connections to existing facilities. We used landscape design and a unique block layout that respected the site’s existing features and created a safe environment for residents to enjoy. The scheme was granted planning permission in March 2014.
