Approach
We were tasked with creating a masterplan and architectural brief for a former manufacturing site known as the Griff Works, located on the outskirts of Sheffield, within the Peak District National Park. We wanted to take full advantage of the unique location and ensure that it played a key role in our work.
Result
We delivered a masterplan, design and access statement and prepared a detailed design guide to support the planning application. Everything was guided by our landscape sensitive, design led approach and the desire to make the site a place people would be proud of.
Our masterplan and design code took full advantage of the character of the site and created a bespoke community on the edge of the Peak District. The use of a stepped approach to deal with the topographical challenges of the site and the creation of a series of hard and soft landscape spaces created a truly unique residential development.
