We undertook a green belt assessment and landscape and visual impact assessment in support of an outline planning application for a site off Asher Lane, Ruddington, Nottinghamshire. This followed best practice as determined by the Landscape Institute and identified the sensitivity and capacity of a number of different potential sites within the greenbelt, allowing a balanced decision to be made regarding the promotion of one site, which was then assessed in detail utilising landscape and visual impact assessment methodology.
Impact
Our detailed methodology allowed a reasoned case to be made for the site above others, which was then further assessed in a greater level of detail and this information used to inform the production of a sensitive masterplan which successfully mitigated this potential landscape and visual impact.
