Approach
A landscape led approach was adopted for this site, which utilised the landscape and visual impact assessment to consider the impact of views from adjacent public rights of way and key vantage points in order to inform the location of development in relation to the overall site. The existing landscape features of the site including trees and hedgerows were prioritised for retention.
Result
Through our sensitive approach, we created a scheme that assimilates comfortably into its setting on the edge of an existing settlement in Warwickshire. The design avoided the higher ground to the north east of the site and integrated sustainable urban drainage features, a wildlife meadow and recreation space, including children’s play providing facilities for existing residents, as well as future residents of the scheme.
