Approach

Node supported Sjolander da Cruz architects, appointed by the Evenacre property company, in a proposal for an ambitious conversion and rooftop extension to a grade II listed building within the Jewellery Quarter Conservation Area, in Birmingham. Node undertook specialist assessments of the building’s significance, informed the design and planning processes, and negotiated with the local planning authority on behalf of the development team.

Result

We produced a heritage statement and impact assessment to support applications for planning permission and listed building consent. Our liaison with the local planning authority enabled the client to understand opportunity and risk, and take informed decisions as to design, planning, and development strategy.
