Favourite thing about working at Node?
My favourite thing about working at Node is that it does not feel like work because I love what I do. It enables me to combine my passions for place making, design, and travel. Growing a business, giving it strategic direction and creating great places for people is hugely rewarding and I feel incredibly fortunate.
Favourite city and why?
One of my favourite cities has to be Barcelona. As well as having one of the best football teams in the world, it’s a European hub for creativity. You’ve got the genius of Gaudi, the order of Cerda’s grid and the passion of the Catalan people. To celebrate winning the Olympic games in 1992, the city created one hundred new squares across the city as a catalyst for regeneration and innovative design. That is inspirational.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I love to travel and visit new places with family and friends. I particularly enjoy mini adventures in my 1980s VW camper van with bikes and the traditional wooden canoe that the Node team built together in 2013. I also like to grow vegetables on my allotment, cook, listen to music and support Notts County: the oldest football club in the league.
